ScripTease — Raven Original Play Series
New works are the lifeblood of live theater, and the Raven is committed to producing at least
one original play every season. We accept new play submissions from March 1 through May 31 each year. From these submissions, we select scripts for regular public readings in our ongoing ScripTease series. Our goal is to then select one of those plays for a fully staged production at
the Raven Performing Arts Theater. We specifically seek plays by writers located on the West Coast, as we view the playwright as a critical member of the creative ensemble and welcome them to be on site as much as possible during the rehearsal process, should their play
be chosen for production.
If you have questions, please contact artistic director Steven David Martin at steven.d.m@raventheater.org.
Full-length, original, unpublished, and unproduced plays and musicals only (no translations, adaptations or children’s plays).
