“A scalpel-wielding dissection of the fetishisation of wifeliness, a 21st-century cultural cul-de-sac populated and policed almost entirely by women.” The Guardian
“Home, I’m Darling mines dark comedy from glorification of 1950s culture.” ARTSATL
Behind the gingham curtains, being a domestic goddess isn’t as easy as it looks. Home, I’m Darling is Laura Wade’s dark comedy about sex, cake, and the quest to be the perfect 1950s housewife. The play explores the very human concept of identity, the current rise of the tradwife movement, and our collective nostalgia for “the good old days” which weren’t, of course, quite as good as we may remember.
*Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. COVID vaccinations and N95 face masks are recommended but no longer required to see performances at the Raven. See the homepage for information on measures the Raven has implemented to improve air filtration and ventilation inside the theater.
