The Improvisational Nature of Love
An audiovisual excursion into the mystery that connects all human beings – Love. Throughout colonial history, and under the most difficult conditions, love has fueled Black artistic expression, giving birth to foundational rhythms, choreography, song, and visual art. This concert, featuring the renowned John Santos Quartet in collaboration with one of the most prolific artists of our times, painter/poet extraordinaire Adrián Arías, pays homage to the legacy of love as resistance in the Americas. Afro-Cuban, Afro-Peruvian, and Afro-Puerto Rican elements will be the vehicle.
The John Santos Quartet
Marco Díaz – piano
Saul Sierra – bass
David Flores – drums
John Santos – percussion
