Disabled Support
The Raven Performing Arts Theater strives to be a performing arts facility for everyone. Please review the information below to learn about the availability of handicapped parking and the seating accessibility of our theater. Please note that companion seating will be provided for any patrons using the wheelchair-accessible spaces at the front of the auditorium. If you have any questions or concerns or need help when you arrive at the theater, please email us at events@raventheater.org or call us at 707.431.8385. You may also ask to speak to the house manager at any event for immediate assistance.
Doors Open:
Doors open 1 hour before showtime for concerts; doors open 30 minutes before showtime for Raven Players’ productions.
Parking:
A drop-off parking zone is available directly in front of our theater. Our staff would be happy to assist disabled patrons from this zone. Handicapped parking can be found on the street or in public parking lots; see the City of Healdsburg map below.
Auditorium:
No stairs are required for access to the theater or the auditorium; the auditorium floor has a very slight slope down to the front of the stage. There are several wheelchair-friendly spaces available; please see the chart below for location. Companion seating will be provided. If more space is necessary for your group, please contact us at events@raventheater.org. Each restroom has one wheelchair-accessible stall.
Onstage seating:
For some Raven Players productions, the audience is seated on stage for a partial “theatre-in-the-round” experience. For these productions, we suggest those requiring disabled support park behind the theater in the handicapped spaces in front of the Raven Film Center at 415 Center Street and enter the Raven through the back stage door. (See the City of Healdsburg map below.) The seating arrangements for these productions will offer space for wheelchairs, walkers, and service dogs as well as companion seating. Please contact us at events@raventheater.org to let us know you will be attending.
Vision impaired:
Lighting throughout the theater is generally sufficient for vision-impaired patrons; if you think you may have difficulty navigating the space, please request assistance from a staff member.
Hearing impaired:
Concerts are generally run through an amplification system and are not usually an issue for the hearing-impaired. The Raven Players’ productions are not amplified except for musicals.
Service dogs:
Service dogs are welcome at the Raven and can be accomodated in most seating arrangements.. However, we regularly have performances for which the audience is seated on stage or other configurations that would require us to rearrange seats to accomodate a service dog. If you are planning to attend a performace with your service dog, please let us know so that we can be sure to arrange the best seating for you. Email us at events@raventheater.org.
Immunocompromised individuals:
COVID vaccinations and N95 face masks are strongly recommended but no longer required to see performances at the Raven, unless requested by a performer or producer. See below for steps we’ve taken to improve air quality within the theater.
The Raven continues work to improve air quality within the theater:
We hired Indoor Science, a Chicago-based company, to conduct a thorough assessment of the air quality in the building. As a result of this assessment, we upgraded the HVAC system and installed MERV-13 filters and automated CO2 sensors in both HVAC units. The CO2 sensors ensure an automatic release of fresh air into the building whenever CO2 levels rise. In addition, we’ve placed standalone filtration units in the lobby, backstage, and in the bathrooms. These types of measures have been shown to reduce indoor exposure to airborne particles containing the virus that causes COVID-19 and other viruses. They also reduce the levels of other particles in the air, such as dust or wildfire smoke.
