Eureka Day

By Johnathan Spector
Director: Steven David Martin

Eureka Day is a private California elementary school with a Board of Directors that values inclusion above all else – that is, until an outbreak of the mumps forces everyone in the community to reconsider the school’s liberal vaccine policy. As cases rise, the board realizes with horror that they’ve got to do what they swore they never would: make a choice that won’t please absolutely everybody.

Macbeth

By William Shakespeare
Directed by Steven David Martin

Is one born evil, or can anyone be seduced by the powers of the dark side? After a victorious battle, Macbeth, a military leader, and hero beyond reproach, meets three witches who prophesy great things for the man – but at what cost? When Lady Macbeth persuades her husband to take action to help the prophecy come true, it sets in motion a runaway train of ambition, betrayal, blood, and madness.

Who Will Dance with Pancho Villa?

January 22-January 31

By John and Gabriel Fraire
Director: Oscar Montelongo

An original play about an urban Chicano struggling to understand himself and his place in his family legacy – a history of warriors, fighters, battlers against oppression and discrimination. He is gifted and educated but conflicted and repressed. Afraid to show his emotions, it takes his mother’s nearly fatal heart attack and the visitation of the spirits of his long dead relatives, and the spirit of his historical idol, Pancho Villa, to help him realize that he still can dance, love, and learn to forgive.

Steel Magnolias

February 13-March 1

By Robert Harling
Director: Diane Bailey

Set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, Steel Magnolias centers around a group of ladies who frequent the parlor to get their hair done and gossip about anyone and everyone in town – not necessarily in that order. Alternately hilarious and touching, the play is a loving exploration of the profound bond that connects these six wildly different women.

A Good Deal will be performed at the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center from March 6 through March 15

Angels in America, Part 1: Millennium Approaches

May 8-24

By Tony Kushner
Director: Steven David Martin

Set in 1980s New York City, a gay man is abandoned by his lover when he contracts the AIDS virus, while closeted Mormon lawyer’s marriage to his pill-popping wife stalls. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Widely described as one of the greatest plays of the 20th century, Angels in America is a complex, dynamic, sometimes surrealistic examination of the AIDS crisis and homosexuality in the United States, while touching on universal issues including change, loss, identity, and the challenges of finding community in an increasingly fractured society.

She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network –  all without denting her ‘do!
