Changes to our COVID policy
COVID vaccinations and N95 face masks are strongly recommended but no longer required to see performances at the Raven, unless requested by a performer or producer.
The Raven continues work to improve air quality within the theater: We recently hired Indoor Science, a Chicago-based company, to conduct a thorough assessment of the air quality in the building. As a result of this assessment, we’ve upgraded our HVAC system and installed MERV-13 and automated CO2 sensors in both HVAC units. The CO2 sensors ensure an automatic release of fresh air into the building whenever CO2 levels rise. In addition, we’ll soon be replacing the temporary Corsi-Rosenthal boxes that are in the lobby and backstage with permanent, standalone units. These measures have been shown to reduce indoor exposure to airborne particles containing the virus that causes COVID-19 and other viruses. They also reduce the levels of other particles in the air, such as dust or wildfire smoke.
Exchange your tickets if you:
- Are awaiting COVID test results.
- Are experiencing COVID symptoms
- Have been exposed to someone in the past 10 days who has tested positive for COVID.
- Do not feel comfortable attending a public performance.
- CDC guidelines were updated in March 2024 to state that a person with COVID can “[return] to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours: symptoms are improving overall, and if a fever was present, it has been gone [also for 24 hours] without the use of a fever-reducing medication.” The CDC further recommends that “Once people resume normal activities, they are encouraged to take additional prevention strategies for the next 5 days to curb disease spread, such as taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, keeping a distance from others, and/or getting tested for respiratory viruses.”
